Hitler Youth essays Hitler was with no doubt the perpetrator of the Holocaust, responsible for the deaths innumerous souls in the early 40s. But an interesting thing to observe is the seldom-remembered Armenian Genocide; another pogrom where three-fifths of the Armenian population between the years of 1915-1923 were killed. The stage for the Armenian deaths was set very similar to that of the Holocaust. The land was in the midst of a war, World War I, which made the mass killings less noticeable and easier to carry out for obvious reason. Also, there was a racist, super-national dictatorial government in place at the time. In Armenia, the Young Turks overthrew the sultan and initiated the genocide because they wanted to rid the land of the sub-human Armenians. This time, the Armenians were at fault simply for being Christian, just like the Jews were supposedly at fault for their beliefs. The Turks were Muslim and believed the land should only be populated by their own kind, and genocide was thei r answer. The Turks killed the intelligentsia first, next slaughtered the able-bodied men, then sent the woman and children either into boxcars or on foot for a death march into the desert - where they were left with nothing and allowed to die, over one and a half million total. If we add a propaganda campaign, more land to conquer (and subsequently, more people to kill) and the willing cooperation of entire governments, we have the Holocaust (in simpler terms, of course) In the end, Hitler must have thought something about this historical event, because on August 22, 1939 he said, After all, who remembers today the extermination of the Armenians? And this was just before he marched into Poland on September 1 of that same year. So before we call Hitler the original anti-Christ, we should keep in mind the events in Armenia over a decade before the first concentration camps were opened. ...

O - Stress And Strain At Work Example

I/O I/O Fried Green Tomatoes: Stress and Coping The movie â€Å"Fried Green Tomatoes† tells the story of friendship between two sets of women. Ruth and Idgie’s relationship are full of dressing episodes while the friendship that existed between Ninny and Evelyn is health and encouraging. The four women are the main characters in the story, its core theme being the murder of Frank, Ruth’s abusive spouse. In the movie, several characters experience stress as a result of different stressors. Evelyn is stressed by the marriage. Idgie is stressed by the death of her brother, and Ruth is subjected to a lot of suffering by her abusive husband. The three cases are closely related to what we have studied in class. The stressors in all the three cases are social in nature. In Idgie’s case, the stressor is also the change that came with his brother’s death. Each of the three characters deal mentioned above deal with emotional strain as a result of their different expe riences. Ruth is emotionally strained as she attempts to cope with her abusive husband. Idgie is strained emotionally due to the death of her brother. The characters attempt to cope with their stresses and strains in various ways. Idgie, for example becomes reserved and withdraws from formal interaction even with her close relations. In this respect, her coping method was ineffective as it did not lead her toward overcoming her stress. It is important for characters to better cope with their stresses or stressors especially if it is not possible to ultimately do away with them. In some cases, people may make irrational choices in trying to deal with stressors. Learning to cope positively with the stressors helps avoid certain ills. In Idgie’s case, there was no way of restoring his brother’s life. This means that she was better placed in copying positively with her loss. By engaging Idgie in a healthy friendship, Ninny managed to help her cope with her situation. Three paintings will be compared of Georges Braque to those of Pablo Picasso to show their different use of "cubism" as well as their similarities. Black period 1906-1907 'Epoque negre "African Art" was significant in proving to himself that he could break away from classism. . The faces of the left are based on the Iberian art and on the right on African art which was in his possession..(A friend had taken them from the Louvre) He wanted to use African art as a means to be able to innovate as Van Gogh used Japanese art. He was fascinated by the African art at the Trocadero Museum in Paris. His use of Cubism represented the geometrical forms. The concept of images remained. It is most fascinating in seeing the progress from his blue period two years before with his distinct bodies and the harsh angles of the bodies and faces. Before his blue period he depended on romanticism. In his blue period, his biggest influence was El Greco and the grief of having lost his good friend. In his rose period, he started to show his own style which was completely manifested in his Black period. His black period gained him followers who became interested in his abstract style of painting. George Braque went from Matisse and came to study with Picasso. This was the being of his new period . Some call it the beginning of Cezanne's cubism because of the monochrome, the geometrical forms and the visual paintings of images. It was the breakthrough from classism once and for all. Cubism: 1907 -1915 the birth of abstract art. His Demoiselles d'Avignon had several angles in which the viewer could see. "The language of Cubism was to see an object independently from different viewpoints" (Warncke 2004) When George Braque associated himself with Picasso he used cubism to show natural objects: technique of faceting. Braque's Nude 1 907-1908 would be his equivalent of his first attempt at cubism. He shows the modest use of colors as he uses 'the roses and blue hues of Picasso. Her forms are not as welled defined. It shows his influence of Cezanne. In his later works, he takes the form and turns them into geometrical shapes.
